Celebrating God's love, seeking God's direction together.
Youth MinistryWELCOME TO UMYF
Got techie skills or journalistic bent? If you do (and if you don't!) then come join us! This summer, the youth will be creating a photodocumentary of various people in the church in a project called "Remembering Our Stories". We will interview and videotape people telling stories of their lives, faith journeys, connections to God. Please join us Sunday mornings at 10 to participate in this project; contact Juliana Smith at youthdirector@graceumc.hrcoxmail.com for more info.
2010 Fall activities are now being planned! Check back or contact Juliana Smith for more information.
Youth group at Grace is a place where we value different methods of learning and experiencing God. Worship often means doing something positive for others , and faith is built through connections with others.
On Sunday mornings, we meet for Bible study at 10:00 a.m. Our UMY (United Methodist Youth) group usually meets Sunday evenings for dinner at 6:00 p.m., followed by games, discussion, and devotions. We say “usually” because we sometimes instead feed the homeless, play Laser Tag, go Christmas caroling, build a labyrinth, join with other youth groups for games, and prepare dramas for worship. We love to have new people join our group!
Topical studies will include issues of friendship, communication, what it means to call the church home and be Christian in a contemporary world. We’ll pray for each other and our world and seek to deepen our relationship with God and each other.
Please contact Juliana Smith, our Youth and Children's Ministry Director, at (757) 595-0017 or email her at youthdirector@graceumc.hrcoxmail.com if you would like additional information or have any questions about our Youth Ministry.
